The Music Section

Love Twitch (1989 - 1994)

Consisting of Nathan Ammons on guitar and vocals, Robin Ervin on guitar and vocals, and me on bass and vocals. We started out playing many shows with just us and a drum machine. Johnny King was out first human drummer. Greg Jordan was out last.

Love Twitch defies consistent categorization. With influences ranging from Beatles to King Crimson to Bob Dylan to Prince to Zappa to the Pixies.... Let's just say our influences were all over the place. Meshing backgrounds of folk/psychedelia and, pop and alternative/experimental music produced some really interesting songs.

We have a lot of recorded practices and shows spread out amongst us. Most of it on cassette tapes. (We preceded the whole desktop studio and Internet thing by a few years!) Some of it has already been digitized. I just need to get my hands on them so that I can put them up for your listening pleasure.

The Liquid Kitchen (1996 - 1997)

What started out as me reluctantly tagging along with my friend Erik Carlson to a little jam session with a friend of his turned into a band almost overnight. Dragonfly was the original name, but we later decided on The Liquid Kitchen. The band featured Jason Landry on vocals, Randy Lempert on drums, me on bass, and Erik and another guy on guitar. Erik was later replaced by Royce, who ultimately became the lone guitarist of the band.

Unlike Love Twitch, Liquid Kitchen had a broader appeal and was able to play live in even more venues in the Houston area as well as Corpus Christi. We played weekly at both The Last Concert Cafe and Woodrow's. We also had the benefit of Jason attending the Art Institute's music program. We got to make a video as well as go in the studio to record a demo. The result of that session is below.

Solo Stuff (2003)

I had an explosion of musical output after discovering Acid. Acid Pro, that is. The following songs are all me manipulating loops and samples. I had a blast doing it. I haven't composed or created any new music since these songs. Let's just say that I have not made the time to sit down at my Mac and start creating with Garage Band. However, the itch is there. I do plan on creating some more tunes using real instruments as well as loops and samples and programming.
